Why work in Latvia?
Over the past few years, Latvia has quietly established itself as one of Europe’s most agile, tech-driven, and opportunity-rich environments.
The country’s startup ecosystem is at its best. Riga has become a regional hub for innovation, with over 500 active startups, many of which focus on fintech, AI, deep tech, and health tech. The government actively supports entrepreneurship with startup visas, tax reliefs, and digital-first services that make launching or joining a company very simple. For professionals in software development, engineering, finance, logistics, or healthcare, Latvia offers something rare: a job market that’s both in high demand and not oversaturated.
You’ll find that Latvia’s size works to its advantage. It’s easy to connect, collaborate, and get noticed. The business scene is both tight-knit and international, as companies often operate across borders, serving clients in Scandinavia, Western Europe, and beyond. English is widely used in offices, and being multilingual is a bonus rather than a barrier.
And if you’re thinking long-term, Latvia’s location couldn’t be better. You’re in the heart of the Baltics, connected to Europe’s major business centers, but with the calm of a smaller city where everything is within easy reach. It’s a country that gives you space to think big while living simply.
